CAD
CAD is the acronym for Computer-Aided Design.
CAD is the use of software solutions for authoring product design. CAD is part of the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and is used with other tools such as:
- CAE (Computer-aided engineering) and FEA (Finite element analysis)
- CAM (Computer-aided manufacturing) including instructions to NC (Numerical Control) machines
- Photo realistic rendering
- Document management and revision control using PDM (Product Data Management)
