3DVIA Studio Pro V6R2013 Enhancements

Industrial Data Visualization

Opacity Support with Large Data Sets: 3DVIA Studio Pro V6R2013 provides opacity support for industrial size data sets, improving the 3D experience.  Screen Space Partitioning (SSP) has been enhanced to handle partially transparent objects, enabling end-users to efficiently navigate through large scenes while using visual artifacts, such as transparency, to improve environment discovery and familiarization.

Lifelike Experience

Nature Library Extension: • In 3DVIA Studio Pro Version 6 R2013, the nature library has been extended to include a tree engine that simulates natural tree behavior.  A variety of trees can be readily added to any scene to produce a highly realistic 3D experience.  The tree library includes over 10 ready-to-use trees for fast scene building.

Immersive Virtuality (iV)

Virtual Cluster: Virtual clustering emulates the VR system cluster configuration on a single development PC, eliminating the need to test on the final VR system and accelerating development time.  Developers do not always have access to the production VR system, making it extremely difficult to stage and test their immersive application before deployment.  With Studio Pro V6R2013, developers can more easily test their application to ensure the industrialization of a robust, cluster-distributed, immersive application.

Improved Structure of SUI Scenario Library: The Sensorial User in Interaction (SUI) Scenario library, which provides a range of tools for creating immersive user experiences, has a new, simplified structure that makes it faster and easier to develop exciting new applications.  Developers can readily drag and drop ready-to-use SUI scenario presets or create new SUI scenarios from generic scenario templates.

Off-the-shelf SUI Scenarios for Alioscopy: 3DVIA Studio Pro V6R2013 provides a ready-to-use SUI preset to display immersive experiences on Alioscopy auto-stereoscopic screens.  3DVIA Studio Pro applications can be viewed in "naked-eye" 3D, delivering an immersive, high-impact, interactive real-time 3D experience without the burden of cumbersome glasses.

Direct Transfer, Caching of Assets and Faster Clustering: With the latest release of 3DVIA Studio Pro, all of a project’s assets can be transferred from the master to the slave’s player instance without any network file access, eliminating the need for extra IT network setup.  In addition, the assets are cached locally on each slave, reducing the wait time required to begin the 3D experience.  This version also includes faster clustering on Windows 7 for improved performance.

Clustering Enhancements: 3DVIA Studio Pro V6R2013 includes the ability to run several synchronized players on the same machine.  With this improvement, developers are able to check for any synchronization issues before deployment and to easily test and debug per host clustering behaviors. Also, new iV config manager introspection methods enable per host specific behaviors, such as:
- Have a 2D view on the master only (sample to be provided)
- Play sound only on one machine of the cluster
- Filter user input before distribution on cluster

Content Authoring

Starter Projects Gallery: 3DVIA Studio Pro offers additional starter projects to help developers get up to speed fast.  The gallery includes a range of starter projects that illustrate key functionalities, including render effects options, camera navigation, defining object behavior, and more. The complete set of starter projects, provided as source code, helps developers starting with Studio Pro to learn and build complex projects from scratch.

Deployment

Improved Load Time Performance: The 2013 release of 3DVIA Studio Pro provides performance optimization for improving the load time of a 3D experience for the 3DVIA Studio Pro Players. The performance gain ranges up to 2X faster than the previous release, greatly improving the user experience. 

Web Player - Automatic Disk Size Management: End-users are now able to uninstall unused engines and add-ons from the 3DVIA Studio Pro Web player, freeing up valuable local hard drive disk space.
