Automotive Powertrain Assembly Analysis with Abaqus
The engine assembly process involves the interaction of numerous, geometrically complex, mating components. During operation, the engine assembly is subject to a wide range of severe mechanical and thermal loading conditions. Abaqus/Standard provides powertrain engineers with the tools needed to simulate engine assembly and operation conditions:
Automated bolt loading conditions
Hertz contact conditions including frictional effects and interference fit operations
Rubber component analysis involving finite deformations and finite-sliding contact
Nonlinear gasket response and sealing pressure predictions
Heat transfer and subsequent thermal-stress analysis
Metal plasticity and gray cast iron plasticity
Modified tetrahedral elements for modeling complex geometries in contact analyses
