SmarTeam Multi-site Vault is an asynchronous replication solution, designed for the distributed environment that enables dispersed team members to collaborate efficiently on product data.
SmarTeam Multi-site Vault implementation is based on using a central database and a replication of the vault files between several additional sites of the same organization. It allows users in the different sites to collaborate on the same project while using files that have been replicated to the local site, ensuring high performance. Work with a central database requires network connectivity between all sites that access the SmarTeam metadata.

SmarTeam Multi-site Vault, which targets administrators and IT, supports replication and synchronization of files that are stored in vaults. When replication takes place, files are encrypted and compressed automatically, and are decompressed when reaching their destination, reducing traffic over the WAN to speed up productivity and design time, and providing local access to files originated in remote locations.
