Dassault Systemes Welcomes SAMTECH as New Software Community Program Partner

SAMTECH will make SAMCEF Mecano non-linear mechanical analysis and SAMCEF Thermal non-linear thermal analysis available within V5 environment


Suresnes (France) - March 26, 2002 - Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) announced today that SAMTECH has joined the Software Community Program as a software partner. SAMTECH will develop and sell the new generation CAA V5-based SAMCEF Mecano and SAMCEF Thermal solvers, fully integrated with the V5 Analysis infrastructure and solutions. Through this partnership, SAMTECH will complement the existing V5 suite of analysis solutions and provide V5 users with easy access to conduct non-linear mechanical and thermal simulations within the standard CATIA V5 environment.<br/>



SAMCEF Mecano is a unique software program that solves coupled, non-linear, structure and mechanism problems. SAMCEF Mecano is capable of performing analysis in environments that combine rigid and flexible bodies, non-linear material laws, kinematic joints, sensors, actuators and contact conditions. SAMCEF Thermal has capabilities for studying non-linear thermal response in solid media having temperature variable properties both in transient and steady regimes.<br/>



Owing to SAMCEF Mecano and SAMCEF Thermal, CAA V5-based design engineers and non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experts will be able to quickly produce non-linear models by adding specific features to an existing linear model built with CATIA V5. The use of a single user interface for the geometry definition and the finite element data definition, of the same data for linear and non-linear analysis and of the same environment for pre and post processing, will speed up the work of all analysts. Providing such advanced non-linear solving capabilities, in a fully associative environment with automatic updates of the design, enables product engineering optimization, and helps to further improve the quality of design prediction while reducing design cycles.<br/>
