Dassault Systemes Launches Vocational Education Partner Program

Human Academy Co., Ltd, first partner to join new program aimed at enhancing the employability of engineers and designers

Paris, France and Tokyo, Japan – February 24, 2005 – Dassault Systèmes, a world leading developer of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) today announced the launch of an Educational Alliance Program designed to increase individuals’ employability by providing them with enhanced PLM skills.

Industry demand for designers and engineers with credible skills in Dassault Systèmes’ PLM applications is increasing rapidly. To provide manufacturers with more PLM talent and to increase the employability of already experienced engineers, Dassault Systèmes has initiated a partnership program for institutions providing education for individuals, the Vocational Education Partner (VEP) program.

The VEP enables participating vocational schools to provide their students with up-to-date knowledge of and training on Dassault Systèmes’ PLM applications by using official courseware that demonstrates the capabilities of the software to maximize students’ performance.

Human Academy Co., Ltd, the first partner within the program, is a multi-discipline professional school for working people and students who are interested in acquiring specific skills and various professional qualifications, or in finding a job or changing jobs. Making use of training materials directly developed by Dassault Systèmes, the company will deliver high-quality PLM education and train skilled engineers who go on to do critical work in various industries.

As a result of this new partnership, CATIA education is available immediately in 20 Human training centers across Japan. The company is targeting a rapid increase in the number of centers in which the program will be available. Human is also considering expanding its scope of services to include CATIA certification.

“We are honored to be Dassault Systemes’ first Vocational Education Partner,” said Miki Sasaki, president of Human Academy. “This partnership will lead to new opportunities for our students and will enable us to spread the educational skills we have developed in the area of CAD, along with the PLM education experience of Dassault Systèmes, all over Japan. This will enable our sister company, Human Resocia, to provide the industry with certified temporary engineers.”

“With their specific skills in personal development training, Vocational Education Partners perfectly complement our existing Education Partner network, which provides high-quality professional education services to companies deploying our PLM applications,” said Philippe Forestier, executive vice president, Dassault Systèmes. “I am honored to welcome Human Academy, a leading educational institution in Japan, as the first member of this program. This partnership will create remarkable opportunities to meet the needs of Japan’s diversified employment system.”
