Paris (France), July 9, 2001 – Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) and CENIT AG Systemhaus announce today the signing of the Software Community Program (SCP) agreement. CENIT, a SCP Gold Partner, develops, markets and distributes Wire EDM applications for manufacturing domains, based on Dassault Systemes next generation V5 architecture. The full integration of CUT4AXES within CATIA V5, further expands the business process coverage of customers, from early conceptual design up to manufacturing, in a single integrated environment. <br/>

Accuracy and precision are the key requirements of manufacturing processes to guarantee customers the proper function of the final product. The technique of wire cutting efficiently addresses these  specific industry requests and is now strongly implemented in the machine tool, tool-making, automotive and mold making industries (e.g. cut-tools, injection molded nozzles, turning tools or indexable inserts) as well as in the area of tool and prototype making and production. <br/>

CATIA V5 offers in the numerical control domain, a complete set of easy to use, fully integrated manufacturing solutions from 2 to 5 axis surface machining and answers the specific needs of various industries, such as Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer Goods, Industrial Machinery, Electrical and Electronics <br/>

The partnership with CENIT brings customers the significant know-how and experience of CENIT in the NC domain, fully integrated to the existing CATIA manufacturing solutions. The innovative “Wire EDM” solution provides a tight integration with a wide variety of EDM-machine tools. This application, called “CUT4AXES CAA V5 Based”, benefits from the native ease of use and intuitive interface of CATIA V5, and can easily be customized to customer needs thanks to the openness of the V5 technology. <br/>
