Dassault Systèmes Promotes the Creation of artizone for the Development and Support of ENOVIA SmarTeam V52009/11/09
PLM Experts Launch a Company to Further Improve DS V5 Technology and Customer Support
Velizy, France, November 9, 2009 - Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that it is subcontracting to artizone the development and support of its ENOVIA SmarTeam V5 technology. This newly created and independent company will develop and support ENOVIA SmarTeam technology under an exclusive contract with Dassault Systèmes. The creation of artizone, comprised of ENOVIA SmarTeam professionals, guarantees the sustainability of the DS engagement in ENOVIA SmarTeam V5. Alex Zeltcer, formerly CEO of SmarTeam brand and VP of Dassault Systèmes Value Channel, will become CEO of artizone.
artizone’s team is built around the V5 ENOVIA SmarTeam professionals and senior management located at DS Israel. It will continue to invest in the SmarTeam product roadmap, while supporting new customers, as well as the current installed base of more than 8000 customers around the world. In parallel, artizone will start an additional, non competitive business line in the area of Online Retail. Zeltcer explains: “artizone has its basis in ENOVIA SmarTeam leveraging the same people and the same product expertise. By building an entity that is based on a solid relationship with DS on one hand while developing new solutions for the future, everyone wins: DS customers, DS, and artizone’s employees.”
While Dassault Systèmes announced earlier this year the consolidation of its V6 R&D into its French and US locations, DS remains strongly active in the Israeli market with a sales office representing the full DS brand and product portfolio. Gilad Friedman will become Managing Director of DS Israel to develop the local growing market. DS will work closely with artizone to better serve current ENOVIA ST V5 customers but also to jointly develop a successful migration path to V6.
“The dedicated company, artizone, provides V5 ENOVIA SmarTeam customers with focused R&D and maintenance support activities to satisfy the requirements of the installed base and new V5 customers”, says Etienne Droit, executive vice president, PLM Sales and Distribution, Dassault Systèmes. “ENOVIA SmarTeam V5 remains a DS product within the ENOVIA portfolio and continues to be fully supported and enhanced. There will be no change in the ENOVIA V5 roadmap or support lifecycle. All current and future ENOVIA SmarTeam customers will continue to work and interact with DS and its partners in the same manner as in the past, and with the same level of support. In addition, DS will coordinate its V6 migration roadmap with artizone.”
Bertrand Sicot, EVP Worldwide Sales, Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks adds: “The formation of artizone will offer a clear seamless and focused support model for the ENOVIA Smarteam V5 customers within the SolidWorks community. We are happy to see the transition of experienced ENOVIA Smarteam professionals insuring continued customer relationship.”
The Israeli software and services provider was established in 2009, by former members of the Dassault Systemes Israel management team, and is currently employing 70 professionals. Built on the strong foundations of PLM expertise, artizone is prepared to develop and support the V5 ENOVIA SmarTeam product-line to the utmost satisfaction of DS customers.
In addition to the V5 ENOVIA SmarTeam product-line activities, artizone announced its mission to develop and to provide an easy-to-use and intuitive on-line shopping arena. artizone will focus its development efforts on the simplification of all related processes, from both sellers and buyers points-of-view.
