Vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) is the terminology that describes noises and vibrations that can be heard or felt by the occupants of a car. The primary goal of a NVH design is to optimize the energy absorption of the vehicle, since noises and vibrations are perceived by the customer as a reflection of the vehicle quality.
This eSeminar provides an overview of the capabilities in Abaqus to perform analyses related to NVH and vehicle acoustics. Linear dynamics are typically employed in NVH analysis. This includes in addition to the ‘classical’ natural frequency extraction procedures like steady-state dynamics, random response analyses or base-motion excitation and the possibility to consider material damping or nonlinear preloading effects. For the vehicle acoustic analyses Abaqus offers - among others - brake squeal analysis, sound radiation analyses or coupled structural-acoustics analyses.
