The Challenge

While evaluating and selecting a product collaboration and data management solution had long been a goal of both the Datex and Ohmeda companies, the merger of the two companies under Instrumentarium brought to a head the need to bring paper-based design and development processes online to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.

A key objective for Datex-Ohmeda was to eliminate data re-entry while working within the structures already familiar to the company’s designers. With eMatrix, Datex-Ohmeda was able to create very simple file transfer protocols to pass design and bill-of-material (BOM) information between Innoveda (eCAD), Pro/ENGINEER (mCAD) and eMatrix to simplify design and create relationships and structures for engineering and mechanical assembly.
