The growing demand for tools to access online information was what prompted Italy’s government to search for an application that could provide its citizens with an easy and intuitive way to find the information they need. Intent on providing a positive user experience for its citizens, the Italian Ministries of Economy and Finance (MEF) are leading the way and pioneering the information-search experience by adopting technologies that will process the one million documents available for MEF employees on its intranet and for the public via Internet. The MEF missioned Consip, an organization that manages and develops the Ministry’s information systems, to choose the right technology for its information management needs. After an in-depth study of search engine technologies on the market, Consip chose Exalead, part of Dassault Systèmes’s (3DS) 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to power information search on the website of the Treasury Department of the MEF.

The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) wanted to better communicate with citizens who use its websites to find information.
