Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process of generating and managing building data during its life-cycle. Typically it uses three-dimensional, real-time, dynamic building modeling software to increase productivity in building design and construction. The AEC industry expects BIM to transform new business processes to improve productivity and efficiency.  However many AEC customers still use 2D documents because some governments do not accept 3D models applications for applications for building permission.
