DELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition (ETD) builds on DELMIA Ergonomics Evaluation (EGE) by allowing users to create, simulate, and validate tasks performed by a Lifelike Human manikin in the V6 environment. With an intuitive user interface, V6 users are able to easily create and simulate how a person interacts with a product or performs tasks in the workplace. Defining common human tasks is simplified through the use of predefined actions such as picking up and placing objects, walking, operating a device, or using a tool. More specific actions, like sitting, kneeling and standing, can be selected from a catalog and applied to the manikin. DELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition makes defining and simulating human tasks accessible to all V6 users.
Manikin tasks created with DELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition can be simulated in conjunction with DELMIA Ergonomics Analysis (EGA) to evaluate ergonomic parameters during motion execution. Additionally, DELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition enhances simulations created with other V6 products such as DELMIA Assembly Simulation (APS) and DELMIA Robot Task Definition (RTD) allowing users to evaluate how the human will perform their tasks in the context of the manufacturing environment.

Definition and management of human tasksA human task is a sequence of human activities that result in a task accomplished by a worker. DELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition provides functions to sequence activities, edit the sequence, and assign tasks to allow the user to evaluate how a human will interact within a product or workplace environment.
Simplified teaching of common actionsHigh semantic activities such as reaching for an object, picking it up, or gesturing are simplified through the use of DELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition. Through the V6 3D immersive environment, the user can simply select the desired activity and apply it to the manikin and an object or location. The series of motions required to achieve that action are automatically generated saving the user both time and effort. Additionally, the user can easily modify the proposed postures to fine tune manikin activities to meet their specific needs. Creation of human tasks follows a natural process easily understood by the user and makes the authoring and simulation of human activities accessible to all V6 users.
Capture and reuse of basic skillsDELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition allows the user to define a sequence of postures, such as, kneeling, and sitting. These posture sequences can be saved in a library for later retrieval and application to a manikin, thereby simplifying task definition effort.
Associativity for automatic updateThe location of a Lifelike Human can be associated to a layout so that the manikin can be taught walk activities. Similarly, the user can associate a human interface to an object and use it for such interactions as Get and Put. The use of human locations and human interfaces makes activities associative to the layout so that if changes to the layout occur, the associated activities are automatically adapted.
Simulation and validation of human tasks for interference and ergonomic analysisUsers of DELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition are able to both teach and simulate how a human will interact in the context of a product or workplace environment. Immersed in this V6 3D environment, users can generate ergonomic analysis reports and perform dynamic interference analysis.
File-based data import (FBDI) support for importing V5 human tasksDELMIA Ergonomics Task Definition provides users with a FBDI mechanism for importing V5 human tasks and MoveTo postures in the V6 environment. This allows an enterprise to leverage valuable investments of time and effort made when creating detailed tasks in V5.
