SUMMARY:eSeminar: Fatigue calculations with fe-safe and Abaqus
DESCRIPTION: August Wöhler already recognized in the mid-19th Century t
	hat an oscillating loaded component fails after a certain number of cy
	cles, although the loading is less than a comparable static load. Toda
	y, the so-called fatigue design of components is a natural practice in
	 the development departments.Conventional interpretations based on han
	d calculations can hardly meet the demand for optimized products, eith
	er technically or economically. A comprehensive numerical solution her
	e is the combination of Abaqus with the fatigue analysis program fe-sa
	fe from the SIMULIA product portfolio and developed by the company Saf
	e Technology. In addition to the lifetime assessment of components mad
	e of ductile or brittle metallic materials fe-safe, for example, allow
	s the examination of welds and even advanced composite structures. A p
	articularly interesting possibility is the integration of fe-safe in t
	he simulation process using Isight from SIMULIA. This opens the prospe
	ct to combine fatigue calculation with optimization.The eSeminar gives
	 an overview of the capabilities of fe-safe especially with regard to
