BETA CAE Systems S.A

In this demonstration the modeling capabilities of the ANSA pre-processor and the μETA post-processor, for the Abaqus solver will be presented through an example case. Using ANSA, full Abaqus pre-process modeling and model updates are performed in a robust and automated way. The μETA post-processor is a powerful tool to visualize and evaluate Abaqus results while ensuring efficiency and quality through a variety of tools.

CD-adapco

CD-adapco will offer a choice of 3 cases to be solved using STAR-CCM+ / Abaqus Co-Simulation dealing with Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) applications. At the beginning of each session the attendees will vote which case they want to see.

Case 1:Fuel Tank Sloshing (picture also attached in original size)

A half full fuel tank containing two structural baffles will be simulated. The goal of this free surface simulation is to investigate the response of the 2 way coupled FSI system to an impulsive loading.

Case 2: Free Falling Lifeboat

The impact of a free falling lifeboat will be simulated. The goal of this multiphase (air and water) simulation is to study the impact event when the lifeboat hits the water.

Case 3: Failure of a Sealing (picture also attached in original size)

A 5° section of a sealing will be simulated. It will be investigated at which pressure level the sealing deforms to such an extent that it starts to leak.
