Prog & Control Engineering
Program and Control Engineering provides a suite of solutions that allow the user to virtually program, validate and simulate manufacturing systems for the virtual commissioning of production facilities.
DELMIA Turning Machining

Program Single and Multi-Spindle Lathe and Mill-Turn Machines
DELMIA Turning Machining (TUM) delivers the capability to program turning and mill-turn machine tools. NC Programmers are immersed in a V6 3D environment that allows them to create, optimize, and validate their turning programs in the context of the physical workplace. It has a full set of CAM features that includes work piece set up, cutter definition and tool path simulation that includes material removal. DELMIA Turning Machining allows users to generate and simulate ISO Code allowing them to perform program prove-out in this virtual environment. NC programmers benefit from full associativity with V6 product designs and powerful machining automation capabilities to drastically reduce NC programming and program optimization time.

Optimized tool paths and reduced machining time
It offers a full set of high-end machining operations (turning operations and dedicated drilling cycles) for accurate tool path definition. It enables machining parts on a lathe or mill-turn machine. It provides the programmer solution needed to machine turned parts.Quick tool path definition thanks to an intuitive user interface
The user defines machining operations quickly using intuitive graphic dialog boxes. "Traffic lights" indicate if there are still parameters to be defined in order to complete the operation. Help icons assist the user for each parameter of the operation : when clicking on these help icons, an image describing the parameter pops up in the panel. Moreover, the user takes advantage of copy/paste facilities for organizing program using process table.Rapid verification of tool path
This solution enables accurate verification of the tool path including simulation of material removal and analysis of remaining material in video mode (with full tooling fixture and tool holder collision checking). In fact, the tool path replay allows generation and verification of individual operations or complete programs. Then alternative machining strategies can be tested and collision-free trajectories can be obtained. It also allows in-process part visualization and material removal simulation. The user can visualize the in-process part and analyze remaining material, tool collision, etc.Management of impacts between Engineering and Manufacturing
User may create “implement links”, connecting machining programs to engineering data. These links can be used to see what machining programs are impacted by engineering changes, and can see whether machining data are up to date with respect to engineering changes.Associativity with CATIA design tools for efficient design change management
This solution set possesses a high level of associativity between product engineering and manufacturing processes and resources. Companies can therefore manage concurrent engineering and manufacturing flows better and reduce the length of the design to manufacturing cycle and then saving costs. DELMIA Machining offers the best support of design changes or design variants and a rapid creation of programs for families of parts.Machining resources in PLM database
CNC machines, tools, tool assemblies are stored in PLM database as any other PLM object. These resources can be retrieved through the standard PLM search, using relevant machining attributes, and then re-use them in machining programs.Reduced administration costs and skill efforts
DELMIA Turning Machining can be used as a single system to cover a wide set of integrated applications, for turning and drilling. This allows companies to institute strong, manageable and long-term partnerships with their DELMIA CAM supplier.High level of automation and standardization by capture and reuse of proven manufacturing know-how
The user can define and store machining processes for machining operations in database, and apply them to part geometry or to design features. As a result, company know-how is capitalized and reused for efficient programming. NC objects and attributes can be handled as knowledgeware objects (in manufacturing intent and macro storage, for example) in order to increase the level of automation and standardization.
