DS Showcases its Advanced 3D PLM Solutions at Beijing Aviation Expo 2007

Beijing, China, Sept 19, 2007 - Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, is showcasing its comprehensive PLM aviation-sector solutions at the Beijing Aviation Expo 2007.  To better compete globally, local aviation companies are using DS’s CATIA Composites Design for aircraft manufacturing, ENOVIA VPLM for 3D collaborative virtual management of product-related data, DELMIA for virtual production manufacturing and maintenance, and ENOVIA MatrixOne for enhanced enterprise business process management.

For today’s airline companies, increasing oil prices, driven by international political tensions, make for steeper operational costs and require firms to charge more.  Add to that the growing pressure to keep things “green,” like reducing noise pollution and harmful gas emissions. To make this happen, aviation companies are working with Dassault Systèmes, a natural partner to reach these goals given its 15-year relationship with China’s aviation industry, and its proven track record working with international aviation giants.

DS is working with local customers and partners that are carving the future for China’s aviation industry, such as The First Aircraft Institute, Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Group, and Xi’an Aircraft Industrial Group.  Together they are crafting solutions that integrate closely with local best practices and optimize critical processes for aircraft development. In addition to using CATIA for their 3D virtual design needs, Chinese aircraft manufacturers are also adopting specialized CATIA applications for composites and sheet metal design and manufacturing.  They are also deploying DS’s end-to-end PLM solution, which covers design to recycling.

Dassault Systèmes will be present (booth G-4, Hall 8) at the Beijing Aviation Expo 2007, which takes place September 19-22, 2007 at China International Exhibition Center in Beijing, China. DS will also further introduce its aviation-industry PLM solutions during seminar sessions in conjunction with the exhibition.
