DELMIA Version 6 Release 2013

A 3DEXPERIENCE of Global Production Systems for sustainable development

Key Benefits

Users of DELMIA V6R2013 benefit from a 3D collaborative innovation and production experience for all actors in the manufacturing lifecycle such as virtual process and system definition, workcell set-up, optimization, scheduling, and operation, to maintenance of real-time production systems.  Below are the key highlights of the Version 6 Release 2013 release.

Product Enhancements

DELMIA Robotics Spot Welding

With DELMIA Robotics Spot Welding (RSW), robot programmers can automatically generate a robot task that includes the spot operations for a group of welds. Spot welding programs can also be analyzed and optimized prior to downloading to robots. V6R2013 now supports the display of Weld Study Analysis results during co-review sessions, including weld report listings of ‘clash’ and ‘reach’ status for each weld point, and weld accessibility graphs for each problematic weld point, shortening review and subsequent iterations.

DELMIA extends openness further through the publishing of documented APIs.

CAA Partners and customer customization are supported through API development. In V6R2013, DELMIA extends openness further through the publishing of documented APIs, increasing support for CAA Partners to develop Version 6 solutions in the robotics, ergonomics, and machining domains.

Delivery of validated robot models robot programmers can perform accurate cycle-time analysis earlier in their development process.

Delivery of validated robot models robot programmers can perform accurate cycle-time analysis earlier in their development process. In V6R2013, DELMIA delivers the industry-first library of next generation Robot Models for selected ABB, FANUC, and KUKA robots, validated in partnership with those robot manufacturers.  These robot models have highly accurate motion parameters that result in unprecedented 7% margin of error in cycle-time analysis using the default motion planner.

DELMIA V6R2013 continues to advance hard material machining strategies.

DELMIA V6R2013 continues to advance hard-material machining strategies for additional time and tool wear savings. It extends the concentric and spiral morphing strategies for 2.5 axis tool path generation delivered in the V6R2012x release to include spiral 3-axis and 5-axis tool path generation.  These hard-material machining strategies have been validated in cooperation with machine tool vendors utilizing titanium work pieces, demonstrating increased cutting tools life, smoother cutting motions and higher quality machined parts, as well as improved machine tool capacity.

DELMIA Processing Planning (PRP)now supports the generation of In-Process manufacturing assemblies.

DELMIA Process Planning (PRP) now supports the generation of In-Process manufacturing assemblies resulting from planned operations and individual stages within a manufacturing system. Reviewing the manufacturing assembly creation increases the user’s understanding of the process and manufacturing system flow and increases the productivity of the process planner.

The DS Version 6 PLM Express On Premise and On the Cloud offerings have been expanded with the addition of DELMIA Robotics Virtual Commissioning (RVC) for simulating native language robot programs.  This offering extends new capabilities to the Robotics Engineer roles and expands the comprehensive yet affordable set of solutions available to small and medium enterprises.
