Virtual design analysis of an unproved wing-sail design enables the engineers to quickly and efficiently visualize the effects of taking different approaches. They also have the ability to create key models first and use the extensive functionality within the Abaqus interaction module to simplify those models.

The engineers at Verney Yachts were able to analyze numerous design variables and virtually test performance before building an expensive prototype, as well as validate the wing-sail concept.
