When Pininfarina decided to pay tribute to the company’s legendary president, Sergio Pininfarina, by creating a special concept car in his honor and presenting it at the annual Geneva International Motor Show, staff knew completing the car in a few months would be a challenge. Their determination, however, was fueled by admiration for a visionary known for his forward thinking and revolutionary designs. The prestigious Italian design house used 3DEXPERIENCE technology from Dassault Systèmes, including CATIA for Creative Designers, to deliver the perfect design. Pininfarina designers were able to express their creativity and experiment in the earliest stages of development with a variety of approaches and designs, and to quickly converge on the most appropriate shape and configuration of the Sergio Concept Car.

The Challenge

Pininfarina had only a few months to develop a new concept car in time for the Geneva International Motor Show.

The prestigious Italian design house used 3DEXPERIENCE technology from Dassault Systèmes, including CATIA for Creative Designers, to deliver the perfect design under a very tight schedule.
