Founded in 1994, ETAS GmbH is a subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH. The company’s mission is to define an automotive industry standard for advanced engineering tools governing the development of embedded software for customers in the automotive industry. In addition to a broad range of standard solutions, ETAS provides comprehensive tool and service engineering support through consulting, customized solutions, contract developments and assistance with engineering services. ETAS is located in Stuttgart, Germany, and has subsidiaries in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States; Yokohama, Japan; and Paris, France, in addition to distributors in Brazil and Korea.
To provide a consistent view of ongoing projects, product versions and related inventory, ETAS needed a solution that could integrate these processes and provide easy access not only to our engineering department, but also to logistics/buyers, global sales and field engineers working on-site in customer projects all over the world.

In addition to providing collaborative product development capabilities, eMatrix met ETAS’ requirements for dynamic data modeling, fine-grained change management capabilities that were more flexible than those of ERP-based solutions, and 100% Web-centric technology.
ETAS uses eMatrix as the building block to link the engineering world with the logistics world. This simplifies processes, enhances product quality and reduces inventory. ETAS wishes all projects would be as simple as that to implement with such strong benefits.
