Dassault Systèmes and Toshiba Solutions Corp. enter PLM Reseller Agreement
01/30/2007Technology Consulting Arm of Toshiba Expands PLM Offering In Japan to Include ENOVIA MatrixOne Business Process Application Portfolio
WESTFORD, Mass. Jan. 30, 2007 — Dassault Systèmes (NASDAQ: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, and Toshiba Solutions today announced an agreement which enables Toshiba Solutions to resell Dassault Systèmes’ ENOVIA MatrixOne PLM solutions in Japan. The agreement gives Toshiba Solutions, the sole IT solutions provider of Toshiba Corporation, a rich portfolio of world-class PLM solutions to deliver to the Japanese market while Dassault Systèmes gains a major sales channel in the region. Both parties agree to expand this relationship in the future.
This new agreement enables Toshiba to resell the full ENOVIA MatrixOne suite of business process applications (BPA), including MatrixOne Designer Central, Engineering Central and Sourcing Central solutions which incorporate the best practices of some of the world’s most innovative companies. In addition, ENOVIA MatrixOne has deep domain expertise in the automobile and high tech industries which are key industries in Japan. Japanese manufacturers are deploying PLM solutions continuously to increase their product and global business development capabilities. At the same time, Japanese manufacturers face employment skills issues in 2007 because many skilled employees will retire over the next three years. This reality has pushed Japanese manufacturers to replace their PLM systems with new solutions that can capture intelligence that would otherwise be lost to retirement. As a result, Toshiba Solutions and Dassault Systèmes have many prospects in the Japanese market.
“We are pleased to deliver the optimized, one-stop solution that combines Toshiba Group’s knowledge of Japanese manufacturers and their PLM needs and the global solution which is provided by Dassault Systèmes in Japan,” said Kazuyuki Itoh, Senior Vice President and Director of Toshiba Solutions.
Toshiba Group has been an ENOVIA MatrixOne customer since 2000 in several of its divisions, including personal computers and digital facilities. Toshiba Group has achieved measurable benefits from its ENOVIA MatrixOne implementations, including significant reductions in product development costs as a result of improved supplier collaboration, and a major improvement in time to market as the result of improved collaboration and sharing of product data, parts data and project information between design and production departments and external suppliers. These improvements increase Toshiba’s competitive capability in highly competitive markets.
“The combination of ENOVIA MatrixOne PLM applications and Toshiba Solutions’ market reach and resources will deliver world-class PLM capability to Japanese manufacturing companies that will enable them to keep pace with product innovation and decrease time to market through improved collaboration,” said ENOVIA CEO Joel Lemke. “We are pleased with this new agreement with Toshiba Solutions and are looking forward to a successful partnership.”
