Recent additions to Abaqus/CAE’s Geometry Edit toolset enable the creation of geometry from the faces of orphan mesh elements (including those imported from a deformed configuration). This technique is useful when you have a meshed part that requires modifications, but you do not have some or all of its geometry available.
This webinar is recommended for users of Abaqus with an interest using CAE to create geometry from orphan meshes or deformed meshes, for the purpose of additional geometry modifications, remeshing or export to other tools.

Prior to joining SIMULIA's western regional office in 2008, Dr. Joseph Haemer worked as a researcher and mechanical engineer for 12 years in the microelectronics, MEMS, biomechanics, and consumer products industries, applying FEA to a range of applications. Now a senior application engineer at SIMULIA, he performs consulting and mentoring services, conducts training seminars and provides customer support. Additionally he supports pre- and post-sales efforts in Northern California. Dr. Haemer received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, studying finite element methods and soft-tissue biomechanics.
