Free Snack & Learn Webinar: Modeling Flexible Multibody Systems in Abaqus Using Connector Elements
When
From February 21, 2013 to February 21, 2013
Where
(Online - 12:00pm PST)
What
Join us on this FREE webinar at 12:00pm PST to explore the variety of connection types available in Abaqus and to understand how to define connections on a worked example.
The combination of mechanisms, rigid bodies, and finite elements in Abaqus creates a powerful simulation tool. The mechanism capability expands the ability of Abaqus to model connections among individual bodies in a variety of ways. Connections can be as simple as pins and rigid links or as complicated as nonlinear frictional joints with elasticity and failure. The goals of this snack and learn is to explore the variety of connection types available in Abaqus and to understand how to define connections on a worked example.
Topics include:
Comparison of connector elements and MPCs
Basic connector components and assembled kinematic connections
Actuating components of relative motions
Output and post-processing of connectors
Brian Bailargeon, SIMULIA West
In 2003, Brian graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the Abaqus East Office (now known as SIMULIA Eastern Region Office) in 2004. His analysis work at SIMULIA included Medical Devices, Defense and Consumer Products. In 2012, Brian joined Cordis Corporation (a Johnson & Johnson company) with a focus on design analysis of coronary stents. He re-joined SIMULIA in 2012 as a Senior Technical Specialist in the SIMULIA Western Region Office in Fremont, CA.
