Attend this free seminar to meet SIMULIA partner, e-Xstream Engineering. Join us for lunch and learn about the unique features of nonlinear multi-scale modeling of composite materials and structures using Abaqus and DIGIMAT.
With promises of great performance, composite materials and structures also present many challenges to engineers. Composite materials are tuned to exhibit outstanding performance in their mechanical, thermal, and/or electrical properties depending on the material mixture and properties of the microstructure. Material microstructures are vastly influenced by processing conditions, as for example short glass fibers being oriented by injection molding in reinforced plastics. This tweaks the composite properties and it is thus essential to include processing in the performance description of the final design.
Predictive simulations are key to the development of composite materials, as well as their application in structural design. Mirroring the full process chain in the simulation approach of designing new parts provides the means to shorten development time and to reduce cost for experimental testing.
Register Now to Learn About:
- The combined simulation solution/approach/procedure to model composite parts involving DIGIMAT and Abaqus FEA
- The workflow associated with modeling composites on the microscopic level
- Performing multi-scale analyses of composite structures with Abaqus FEA, using advanced micromechanical material descriptions
Who Should Attend:
Designers, CAE engineers or simulation managers who work with composite materials and need to assess many aspects of their designs efficiently and accurately in an integrated analysis environment.
What is DIGIMAT?
DIGIMAT is the unique nonlinear multi-scale modeling platform, developed by e-Xstream engineering, to simulate the behavior of composite materials and structures. It is used by material suppliers and end users across the industries to perform detailed analyses of composite materials on the microscopic level and to derive micromechanical material models suited for multi-scale coupling of the micro- and macroscopic level. DIGIMAT material models provide the means to combine processing simulation with structural FEA, hence moving towards more predictive simulation by taking into account the influence of processing conditions on the performance of the finally produced part.
What is Abaqus Unified FEA?
The Abaqus Unified FEA product suite from SIMULIA, the Dassault Systemes Brand for realistic simulation, offers powerful and complete solutions for both routine and sophisticated engineering problems covering a vast spectrum of industrial applications. In the aerospace industry, appropriate advanced simulation tools can improve the design, increase the value of testing, and significantly reduce the amount and scale of physical testing from that which is currently required. The Abaqus FEA Unified product suite utilizes not only static, but also dynamic load case simulation such as impact, collision, BVID, and bird strike. SIMULIA provides a platform for evolving your composites simulation methodology to deliver more accurate results to meet regulatory and competitive demands.
