ENOVIA Collaboration for IGES
ENOVIA® Collaboration for IGES imports Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) geometry files to leverage expertise throughout the extended enterprise.
The Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) defines a neutral data format that allows the digital exchange of information among Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) systems. Using IGES, a CAD user can exchange product data models in the form of circuit diagrams, wireframe, freeform surface or solid modeling representations. Applications supported by IGES include traditional engineering drawings, models for analysis, and other manufacturing functions.
ENOVIA Collaboration for IGES speeds innovation and improves quality by enabling users to share IGES files. For example, an OEM may receive a design in IGES files from suppliers and want to share the file with all stakeholders. One person can store the IGES document and its generated CGR files in ENOVIA and share its content with anyone who also has ENOVIA 3DLive, CATIA® V6 / ENOVIA® VPM Central™, or ENOVIA Live Collaboration products. Designers now can design in context and use the IGES content for mechanical engineering applications and a manager can set up design review meetings including the latest suppliers’ data.

IGES File Import
ENOVIA Collaboration for IGES allows users to import IGES files interactively using a simple file chooser. If successive versions of designs need to be imported, then each can be tracked as separate revisions in ENOVIA.Navigate and Reuse IGES Files
When the IGES files get imported into ENOVIA, they are converted into the DS CGR format. This enables the data to be used by a broad range of users. Designers can include the converted IGES data in their ENOVIA VPM Central session. Managers and collaborators can review the converted IGES data with either ENOVIA 3DLive or the 3DVia® Viewer, available with ENOVIA Live Collaboration.IGES Version Support
