01:45PM to 02:00PM: A Framework for Innovation

This presentation will reflect the how the disruption discussed in the previous sessions has created a need for a new way to approach the conception, design and delivery of products. This approach extends ecosystem past its traditional boundaries to include an eclectic tribe of stakeholders all necessary to deliver products in the age of customer experience.

  • Monica Menghini

Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer Dassault Systèmes

02:00PM to 02:10PM: Co-inventing New Customers Experiences with "Open Innovation”

In the age of Internet of Things, companies from many industries have the opportunity to challenge traditional boundaries and redefine the competitive landscape with breakthrough innovations. “Open Innovation” is known as a key concept for leveraging diverse talents into the innovation process – both inside the organization as well as external ecosystems like startups. This demonstration shows how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform can foster and socialize the way to invent new customer experiences.

Vice President, High Tech Industry Dassault Systèmes

02:10PM to 02:20PM: Surface: Why it’s Still the Only Tablet that can Replace a Laptop

Surface was conceived at a time when a laptop was powerful and productive and a tablet was light weight, beautiful but lacked the software that you need to really get work done. That’s where Surface comes from. Designed from the ground on up as the tablet that can replace your laptop. This session will talk about why Surface was designed, who Surface is designed for and the customers we have seen that have joined us on the journey.

  • Matt Chapman

    Product Marketing for Surface Microsoft

02:20PM to 02:50PM: Internet of Things - The New Vanguard for Business: Connectivity, Design, and the Internet of Things

The Internet of Things is the hottest topic of the moment—a shift predicted to be as momentous as the impact of the internet itself. The internet has allowed us to share ideas and data largely input by humans. What about a world where data from objects as diverse as umbrellas, fridges, and gas tanks all flows through the internet? We are truly at the frontier of a new, hyper-connected future: and MIT Media Lab’s David Rose is our guide. If you own a business, if your company makes a product, if you are involved in manufacturing, supply chain management, environmental monitoring, transport, retail, healthcare, urban planning, architecture, design—literally any industry—your sector will be affected.

02:50PM to 03:20PM: How Crowds and Companies can Share

From AirBnb, TaskRabbit, Uber, to Lyft, the sharing economy is on the rise. Furthermore, crowd funding, and the maker movement is enabling people to create goods --rather than buy them. Organizations can benefit from this movement by tapping into the crowd by enabling them to better utilize your own resources, and to create new business opportunities that reduce capital expenditures and operating costs. Find out how companies can activate these technologies to make goods and services available on demand, reducing waste. Find out how companies can tap into marketplaces to help them motivate sharing of used goods and products. Finally, find out how top organizations can tap into the crowd into every business function, reducing costs and increasing innovation.

03:50PM to 04:10PM: Rethink Enterprise! We are in the Experience Economy

Experience, as an economy, is a holistic transformation. It penetrates how we innovate, how we produce, distribute and trade, how we communicate with each other, how we learn, and how we work. Only an experience-designed and driven enterprise can make a difference and achieve great things in this new economy and society. To transform experience into business requires the power of virtual worlds and a new generation of business platform, encompassing the company’s purpose, skills, values, resources, processes and strategies into a sustainable and enabling business model.

04:45PM to 05:00PM: Orchestrating the Design-To-Manufacturing Process with 3DEXPERIENCE

Atmel is an industry leader in IoT space providing a wide array of semiconductor solutions for Microcontrollers , Touch, Automotive, Security, Memory and wireless segments. Over the years Atmel acquired multiple companies and with them came different Product Data management solutions and processes. There was a need to harmonize these platforms and processes to one standard solution that can provide the necessary data integrity and visibility to achieve Engineering, Costing, Planning and Manufacturing goals. Atmel kicked off a PLM and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) implementation program in 2014 with a goal to have a harmonized solution that will address the fragmentation and data integrity issues with existing partial PDM solutions across the company. The presentation covers the diverse nature of Atmel business, the reason to choose Dassault Systemes as a solution provider and details for the Atmel implementation.

It’s important to avoid trial and error for control system development, trial run, and damage during test with real equipment while constructing plants in steel industry. Therefore, we need to develop Virtual Commissioning System as a virtual plant to test automation controls before building a real plant. We created a 3D virtual environment, control test environment which is integrated with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and modeled the movement of virtual actuator and sensor. With this virtual environment, we can check architecture of driving parts, layout, and dynamic interference in the design phase of the control system and control functions in the manufacturing phase. Especially, by parametric 3D modeling of all single component of entire an plant, we developed Builder for prompt layout change and assembly automation to build 3D plant within a short period, and improved simulation speed to integrate with PLC.
